Bits of soothng colors

A little bit more about color.  New colors I am seeing a lot in magazines are the colors of water.  the turquoises of the Caribbean, Aruba and the Bahamas.  The pale to bright turquoises to darker blues.
these are refreshing colors.  That is what everyone needs in their life.  Refreshing!!!!!!!!!!!  Even the computers need refreshing (or rebooting).  Turquoise makes you feel as if you are in a Caribbean resort.  It is such a happy color.  To punch it up, I love to use purple especially in paintings.  Another great color is a bright pink, as it also adds a lot of punch with turquoise. 

In Florida, or many of the southern states as well as western states, actually everywhere in the country, where swimming pools are prevalent, the water is mostly turquoise.  Use that as your backdrop.  Start from there and work your way indoors. Pale turquoise and pale blue are extremely calming colors.  If you want  calming effect, choose pale colors to accent with, such as pale yellow, pale pink, lavender or pale greens.  Keep it a very light palette.  The more daring, will use the brighter of those pale colors.

  I cannot stand a messy kitchen, although I have at many times had one because of my projects.  The first thing I do in the A.M.is straighten it out.  Then I have my tea.  I also like to shop for placemats and fresh floral arrangements for my table to set  cheerful and happy mood.  I have so many different types of containers to put my flowers in.  I can use vases, too easy ( unless they are a drop dead gorgeous vase), tea pots, great idea, water pitchers as some come in various shapes.  At present, I have a white pheasant filled with pink alstromeria, on a white doily.  I have many doilies, saved from a friend and bought at garage sales.  I use them often to change a look.  A beautiful table invites anyone to sit down and be comfortable.  It is special.

I also collect dishes.  I like t mix and match them.  That makes an interesting setting.  Shop around and see what you can find to give your kitchen a happy feeling.
