More on Furnishing

Refurnishing your home can be a real chore in today's marketplace.

First take an inventory of what you have.  If you have good furniture and want to add some pizazz to it, or just have a new look, this is where you start.

Write on your list all the pieces you absolutely love, and then what you want to keep.  Make sure you and your partner agree on all of this.  Then get rid of the other things.  If you have  place to store them better yet, as I have found people many times regret getting rid of things they want back after a fashion.

Depends on what you are doing and the look that you want, there are ways to make a room look more modern or more traditional or older, especially if it is new construction.  Lighting is the easiest way.  Wall sconces, chandeliers, or floor and table lamps give a traditional look, while recessed lighting, track lighting or sleek shinny chandeliers make a room more modern.

Make your home a happy place!

I love a mixture of white, light and dark woods.  Dark woods all over are heavy and can be very depressing.  Light woods are more cheery and make your rooms interesting.  Try moving different woods around and see what happens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
