Another bit of jumping around

I read somewhere, " How I enrich you, enlighten you, or enrich your daily life, is my most important challenge".  This takes a lot of digging, investigating and hard work.  But the results are never ending as one thing always leads to another.

Draperies are a great way to introduce texture into a space.  Again, this is a visual thing.  I have complete binders of drapery treatments, that I have done, or just to show clients.  It's like shopping for everything else, if you like it, get it, if not, just walk on by.

Draperies soften the look of  room.  They are called soft treatments.  Blinds, verticals, woven woods, shutters are what we call hard window treatments.  They can be softened with draperies, valances or cornices.  Remember, check out my website for an easy way to add texture, color and warmth to hard window treatments. This softens a room immensely.  Draperies also absorb sound.  If you have ever heard the hollowness of  room, carpeting and draperies deaden the sound.

Draperies also add something that reflects as it plays up your palette.

Light brings textures to life.  Again a visual thing.  Usually your eyes can tell you how it feels. Is it soft, like your bed, is it itchy as some fabrics are rough looking, is it romantic as sheers, is it elegant as silk, velvet and satin?  What type of feeling do you want?  Think about it.  I love to walk into a place and immediately feel comfortable. 

Remember, if you are old enough, when people had plastic coverings on their furniture.  You didn't even want to go into the room.  It was like STAY OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!
